Who We Are
“Fun”Dimensions of Creative Writing was established in October, 2017. Our first children’s book, Sammy the Sea Star, was published by Gypsy Publications, Troy, Ohio, in 2018. Our purpose is to inspire students to love reading and writing. We want them to know that reading and writing are FUN and open the door to learning. We chose the name “Fun”Dimensions of Creative Writing because we wanted to demonstrate to students that writing can be fun throughout all of the dimensions of the creative writing process from idea generation, character and plot development, and the all-important editing process.
OUR GOALS
Our innovative, creative workshops are tailored to the needs of individual groups of students at both the elementary and high school level. Our hope is to share the process we experienced through the publication of our books, to inspire students to embrace the creative writing process, and to help them develop the idea generation and writing and editing skills needed to become successful writers. We hope to reach as many students as we can through these workshops.
Creative Writing

Reading our stories and sharing the illustrations.
Story discussions and bibliotherapy. We want students to learn to love and trust in themselves. Each of our books has a life lesson, too.
Sharing our writing process and publication experiences.

• round-robin writing exercises
Science-related and craft activities on the topics of fireflies and/or sea stars to capture student interest not only in reading and writing but also in science and
other subjects.
